Natural Soda, Inc.
2013 Project Status Report & Annual Plan of Development
4.4 Geotechnical Program
NSI currently monitors two (2) time - domain - reflectometry (TDR) subsurface- subsidence
monitor wells, the 4A -5M and 3M -TDR. There has been no indication of subsidence near
the 4A -5M well since installation. One of the TDR cables in the 4A -5M well is showing
evidence of water infiltration. The 3M -TDR well was drilled late in 2003. Two of the four
TDR cables in 3M -TDR subsidence well were corrupted during installation and not used.
In 2013, readings were again taken and data was gathered from cables two and three. In
addition to the monthly NSI readings, the installation contractor also collects data
quarterly; no significant ground movement has been detected near the 3M -TDR well since
the cables were installed.
' 4.4.1 Subsurface Subsidence Geophysical Logging
The initial gamma ray and casing collar locator logs (GR/CCL) in the 13H production
pair was completed while drilling the wells in August/September of 2013. This data will
be used as a baseline for future subsidence geophysical log monitoring of this well pair.
4.4.2 Surface Subsidence Monitoring
Two surface subsidence monuments (SSMs) were installed in 2013 to monitor for
surface subsidence above the 12H and 13H cavities. These two new surface
monuments along with the existing 11 monuments located throughout the well field yield
a total of 13 SSMs above NSI's area of operations. A general surface subsidence
' survey was conducted in May of 2013. A review of the survey indicated no surface
subsidence. In 2014 NSI plans to install additional surface monuments over the
currently proposed 8H, and 14H cavities subsequent to drilling.
4.5 Water Well Pumpage
In 2013, approximately 72.8 million gallons of water was pumped from water supply
' wells 90 -1 and WSW -2 with an average of 138.2 gpm. The total pumpage from WSW -2
was 59.6 million gallons, and the total pumpage from 90 -1 was 13.2 million gallons.
' DAUB & ASSOCIATES, INC, . I, 17 January 2014
