QA /QC procedures outlined in the QAPP (Appendix G)
will be followed to ensure that data generated by the monitoring program are representative for the sampled
locations. Important aspects of the QA /QC program include establishment of data quality objectives and
criteria, protocols for sample collection, submission of field duplicate samples and field blanks, methods
for data evaluation, record keeping, equipment calibration and testing, and review and verification of data.
Data generated by the baseline groundwater- monitoring program is compiled in a database and verified for
accuracy by comparing the original value from the laboratory data sheets to the entered value. Results will be
compared to Colorado groundwater quality standards.
The data will be compiled and presented in quarterly interim monitoring reports, which will combine the
results of the Surface Water and Groundwater Baseline Characterization Programs. The report will include
descriptions of the monitoring wells along with field data sheets, laboratory data sheets, and tabular
summaries of field parameters and laboratory results. Data from the Domestic Water Quality Baseline
Characterization program will be compiled semi - annually, and summary statistics will be prepared.
Individual homeowner water quality information will not be made public without written permission.
The data will also be compiled and interpreted in a baseline water resources technical report which will
summarize all laboratory results, provide statistical analysis, present Piper or Stiff diagrams of water
quality major ions, describe the vertical and horizontal hydraulic gradients, evaluate correlations between
water levels and water quality parameters in various aquifers, and provide a summary of the hydrogeologic
system in the Project area.
5. DOMESTIC WATER MONITORING
A total of 93 wells are located within one mile outside of the expanded Project boundary, according to
current Division of Water Resources (DWR) records. Of those 93 wells, 35 are located within '/2 mile
outside the Project boundary, and 58 are located between '/2 mile and one mile of the Project boundary.
The wells are listed in Table 17 by DWR well permit number, and the locations are shown in Plate 4.
Fifty two domestic water supply sources have been sampled from 2008 to 2013, with many wells being
sampled more than ten times. Some wells have been removed from the sampling program over time, either
because the well owner opted out of the sampling program (nine wells), the wells are located more than one
mile from the Project boundary (one well), property owners moved, the wells are on distant properties
across drainage divides (six wells), or the wells are stock wells and not domestic wells (one well).
The monitoring program currently consists of 30 domestic wells that are actively sampled (17 are
monitored semiannually and 13 are now monitored annually). Monitoring will continue at the 30 active
wells listed in Table 17. Homeowner participation in the monitoring program is voluntary, and
homeowners may opt out of the monitoring at any time.
4153A.140129 Whetstone Associates •
