Baseline Hydrologic Monitoring Plan — Hansen Project 23
3. SURFACE WATER MONITORING
3.1 Monitoring Network
The surface water monitoring network consists of 12 surface water stations, as shown in Table 6 and Figure
10. Stations have been selected upstream and downstream of the Project site, at the property boundaries to
the east and south, as well as above and below the confluence of Squaw Creek and Cottonwood Creek and
above the confluence of Middle Tallahassee Creek and North Tallahassee Creek.
The former surface water stations monitored by Cyprus in 1979 — 1981 for the Hansen deposit are also
shown in Figure 10. Eight of the twelve monitoring stations are located at or near Cyprus historical surface
water monitoring stations. The names of the current monitoring stations correspond with the old stations;
for example, station SW07 -CO is located on Cottonwood Creek near Cyprus's station 4407.
Stations SW19 -HG and SW22 -HG were established as downstream surface water monitoring stations for
the original Taylor Ranch Project. The stations were monitored from 2008 to 2010 and were removed
from the monitoring program (Table 7) when the expansion of the Project to include Hansen deposit
changed the location of downstream stations.
