The roads to Portals #5 and #6 will be reclaimed with topsoil and seeded.
Colorado Stone only conducts underground quarry operations. The seam of marble is 280 to 300 feet
thick and is entirely exposed at the surface. It is anticipated that the portals #2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 will be
sealed with wire rope to prevent access to the quarry. The utility portal driven by CYMC in 1990 will be
backfilled. See the following pages for more details on the wire rope netting. These pages are from the
DRMS Inactive Mine Reclamation Program and are only for reference. The netting will be constructed
on site to best fit each portal. Specification may vary to suit the unusual portal configurations.
Some portals may be sealed using the anchored wire rope system during the active mine operation
although the cost for reclaiming all post -law portals is included in the reclamation bond.
Yule Quarry January 2014 50
