SITE DESCRIPTION EXHIBIT B
SOILS INFORMATION
The following soils and vegetation information was obtained
from site observations and the basic soils and vegetation infor-
mation obtained from the Web Soil Survey. The pages from this
web site show the general soils properties and vegetation capa-
bilities for the site. The soil on the site is shown on the
Soils Map, reproduced on page 6 following this text. This map or
report does not address the old mine /parking area where little
soil remains.
There are three soil types found on the site, (27033)
Cypher - Ratake families complex, 4 to 40% slopes, (2705D) Ratake-
Cathedral families -Rock outcrop complex, 40 to 150% slopes and
(2706D) Cypher family -Rock outcrop complex, 40 to 150% slopes.
The description for this soil is found in the soils information
on page 7 from the NRCS soil survey site for Larimer County. The
old mine /parking area covers approximately 35% of the site with
the remaining areas having soil as described in the published
data. The location of the old mine area is shown Map Exhibit E -1
and currently is covered by weeds, grasses and in some areas is
exposed bedrock. This old mine site has been used by the land-
owners as a parking and a staging area for their other busi-
nesses. The areas outside the old mine that is not bare rock has
a fairly healthy and tree grass cover. On the unmined areas
there is a 0 to 8 inch layer of very course gravely sandy loam,
what would be called decomposed granite. This top cover will be
use as part of the material needed to meet the contract specifi-
cations for a CDOT project.
ON SITE VEGETATION INFORMATION
1. Current vegetation cover percent is: 0 to <40%
2. Topsoil depth on site averages: 0 to 8 inches
The site is located 7.8 Miles northwest of Lyons, Colorado
approximately 1000 feet east of HWY 36 at Pinewood Springs. The
old mine area covers approximately 1.30 acres of the 3.0 acres ±
we are permitting. We are incorporating the old mined area in
3
