The attached memo from our Mine Department
describes the types and volumes of underground materials we expect to encounter during the current
life of mine plan, and the likely effects of these materials on OSF stability. Given the very small
volumes of underground materials relative to overall OSF volume, we determined that these
materials would not create stability concerns at the OSFs. We also feel that, to further eliminate any
potential stability risk, these materials should be dispersed within the OSF complex rather than
concentrating them in central locations.
Please accept this letter and attachment as an addendum to TR -22 for your files. Climax also will
maintain this information with our copies of TR -22. As previously stated in our first addendum
letter to you of September 5, 2012, Climax Pit Operations also will segregate any material that is not
compatible with inert, solid waste (e.g., electrical equipment, containers, oily material, etc.) for
appropriate disposal off site.
Sincerely,
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
attachment
RECEIVED
JAN 2 2 2014
Division of Reclamation,
Mining & Safety
