Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Division has received and reviewed the 2013 Annual Hydrology Report submitted by you
for the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine. The report was submitted in a timely manner and in compliance
with Rule 4.05.13(4)(c) and the approved permit application package.
The report indicates that no water monitoring was conducted at the site, as allowed by the
currently approved permit application package (page 4 -85), and the requirements of the CDPS
permit for the site that was inactivated on September 30, 2004.
Page 4 -86 of the approved permit application package requires the Annual Hydrology Report to
include a discussion of the sediment pond discharge and water consumption including irrigation
of the reclaimed site. The 2013 report states that there was no discharge from the pond, nor
was there any irrigation of the crop land portion of the reclaimed mine site during the year.
The report, as submitted, addresses all of the requirements of the Rules and approved permit
application. At this time, the Division has no questions or further comments on the report. If
you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Susan L.
