INTEROFFICE
John Hickenlooper
Governor
MEMORANDUM
Mike King
Executive Director
TO: Mike Boulay Loretta E. Pineda
Director
FROM: Jim Stark
SUBJECT: New Horizon North 2012 Annual Reclamation Report Review
DATE: 21 January 2014
Per Dan's request I have reviewed the 2012 New Horizon North's Annual Reclamation
Report. During the 2012 construction year the only work that was done at the mine was
preproduction work. Western Fuels built pond NHN1 and stripped and stockpiled
112,000 CY of mixed topsoil and 45,000 CY of Progresso topsoil, which is stockpiled
separately from the mixed topsoil. In all, 76.4 acres have been disturbed at the New
Horizon North Mine. All of the acreage numbers reported on the standardized ARR
Report form were consistent with the work performed at the site during 2012.
The Division does not have any questions or comments regarding the New Horizon
North's 2012 Annual Reclamation Report. Please let me know if you have any questions
or need any additional information.
