BHA No. 1 was tripped out of the hole at 20:30 hours on August 27, 2013. The BHA No. 2
was built up and run in the hole. BHA No. 2 was a directional drilling assembly which
consisted of, in part, a 9.875 -inch Reed type LHA517G tri -cone rock bit (Serial No. 07 -05-
21118) and a 6.75 -inch mud motor (Serial No. 6819) with a 2.5 degree bend EM (electro-
magnetic) transmission tool. A gamma detector was spaced 35.5 feet behind the bit to aid
in correlation while drilling to the intermediate casing point. The kick -off point (KOP) for
building the curve part of the hole was reported in the SDI End of Well (EOW) Report as
1,488 feet MD KB.
Capstar began drilling with BHA No. 2 at 1,444 feet MD KB at 01:30 hours on
August 28, 2013. The intermediate hole TD of 2,230 feet MD KB, was reached by 18:00
hours on August 30th with full circulation. The hole was circulated and conditioned for one
hour prior to tripping out of the hole. At approximately 2,000 feet MD KB, the pipe pulled
tight and while working it free the draw works drive chain broke. Repairs were made
quickly (1.5 hours) and the pipe was worked free. BHA No. 2 was tripped out of the hole
and laid down. The reaming assembly was picked up and run back in the hole after the
drilling line was slipped and cut.
The reaming assembly was tripped in to 1,444 feet MD KB where it tagged up, and was
washed and reamed the rest of the way to bottom at 2,230 feet MD KB with full
circulation. The reaming assembly was tripped out of the hole. Fifty joints of 7.625 -inch
26.4 ppf K -55 casing was run in the hole. The shoe was landed at 2,229 feet MD KB on
August 31, 2013 at 23:30 hours. The connections on the first three joints were tack -
welded and the casing was circulated every 5 joints after reaching 1,400 feet MD KB. The
casing was circulated on bottom and an LCM sweep was pumped with full circulation.
The Halliburton cementing crew was rigged up at 02:30 hours on September 1, 2013 after
participating in a pre -job safety meeting. The following cement mixture was mixed and
pumped: 10 bbls water, 20 bbls Superflush, 10 bbls water, 141 bbls (500 sacks) of 14 ppg
Daub & Associates, Inc.
