The Surface opera- tion is operated by Seneca Coal Company, ILLC under the provisio s of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond release application was submitted by Seneca Coal Company, LLC on November 15, 2012. Seneca Coal Company requested Phase I bond release on 138.7 ac- res and a financial liability reduction of ap- proximately $1,090,188 associated with the bond release area The Division proposed to partially approved Seneca Coal Companies request and will grant Phase I bond release on 127.65 acres and will reduce their re- quired liability by $801,465.00. The af- fected area is located in Routt County, ap- proximately 9 miles South of Hayden, Colo- rado.
