EROSION AND FUGITIVE DUST CONTROL PLAN
FOR STOCKPILES
IN THE PUEBLO EAST PIT
EXHIBIT F -3 Reclamation Plan
Technical Revision — 2014
This Control Plan applies to:
1. Overburden (OB) and topsoil (TS) stockpiles and significant portions of
stockpiles which are completed and have no additional placement of soil, and
2. Those above stockpiles and portions of stockpiles which will remain in place for
longer than one year from their completion or from the date of this Plan (January
17, 2013), which ever is later.
The method of erosion control is revegetation with a hardy grass mix. The grass
revegetation goal is 60% ground coverage.
The preferred seeding dates for maximum germination success are February 151h to April
15`''. The back up seeding dates are September 15`t' to November 15th.
Existing stockpiles have developed vertical gullies from water erosion. Therefore the
piles lack horizontal ridges to hold moisture, seed, and mulch.
The method of revegetation is:
• Any weeds on stockpiles will be removed by mowing, pulling, or chemical
spraying.
• A track dozer will run vertically up and down the sides of the stockpile so the
tracks can imprint horizontal ridges in the soil. Where vertical gullies exist on the
stockpile, the dozer blade will be lowered to the depth of the gullies on the up run
and lifted on the down run.
• A designated seed mix will be hydro- sprayed on the pile.
• A designated wood cellulose fiber mulch and tackifier will be hydro- sprayed on
the pile at the perscripted rate.
• Those portions of stockpiles where seed did not germinate will be hydro- seeded
and mulched the next available seeding time.
