Twenty-four plant species or 18 percent of the flora are introduced
weeds or cultivars from outside the geographic region. Quackgrass is
listed by Thornton 11974) as a restricted noxious weed, very objectionable
but can be controlled. Quackgrass was encountered on cover transacts
in both vegetation types with low fo moderate frequency. Whitetop
Laada~ia cha~apenai~, a species closely resembling the prohibited noxious
weed Caadania d~aba, was encountered infrequently (0.2 percent cover) in
the Mountain Shrubland vegetation type. C~2daitia species in general are
considered weedy in most western states IWDEQ 19801.
There are no federally listed threatened or endangered plant species
or species of special concern on the study site. Additionally, there ere
no selenium indicators on this site as listed by WDEQ 119801.
3.4 SAMPLE CHARACTERISTICS AND ADEQUACY
Table 10 provides data on the adequacy of cover, production, and
shrub end tree density sampling and on species diversify. A statistically
adequate number of cover samples was taken. Adequacy was not reached
for production or woody stem density in either community; however, the
maximum number of samples las agreed on by CMLRI was taken.
3.5 DATA TABLES ANO OTHER TABULAR INFORMATION
This section contains all data tables and other tabular information
as presented and described in previous sections except summary tables
which appear in Section 4.0.
-11-
