Susan Burgmaier -3- January 7, 2014
On top of gob pile #4 there is 11,400 CY of coverfill in stockpile. This material has come from
the TR -72/76 expansion area. Of the 90,000 CY that was originally calculated as available in
the TR -27/76 expansion area, there is more than likely some material still available for salvage,
but it is unknown how much. Therefore, to make sure enough material is available, almost
59,000 CY of material will be required from the gob pile #3 area. There is an estimated
123,000 CY excess soil at gob pile #3. (Once salvage efforts are complete at gob pile #3, this
number will be verified with a survey and Appendix A will be updated as necessary).
Topsoil is located in two piles, pile "D" and "E ". Topsoil stockpile D (west pile) has 4,524 CY
of topsoil in place. Topsoil stockpile E (East pile, at toe of gob pile #4, just west of gob pile #2)
has 37,948 CY in place, for a total amount of 42,472 CY of available topsoil.
C. Please provide an accurate map depicting where topsoil has been replaced and
the depth of topsoil replacement in each area.
BOW2: For material balance purposes, it is assumed that no topsoil has been placed in the
gob pile area. If that changes and it is field verified that topsoil is in place, AppendixA will be
revised.
6. DRMS: Please update Map 32, Topsoil Distribution Plan, to include the proposed
disturbance area associated with the gob pile expansion.
BOW -2: Please see revised Map 32.
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tamme Bishop, P.E.
Project Engineer
Enclosures:
Volume II: Map 32
Volume IX: Text pages 14 -15, Appendix A
