Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta Pineda
Director
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has reviewed the above referenced report.
The fourth quarter sediment pond inspection reports and the pond capacity data were received by the Division on
December 23rd 2013. Sediment pond inspections were conducted by TMI on December 3rd and December 10tH
2013. This report appears to be in compliance with the applicable sections of Rule 4.05.9(17).
No maintenance items were noted during the inspection. However, the report indicated No Name 42 sediment
pond was at a 70% sediment level. Section 4.8.1.4 of Trapper's permit indicates that all sediment control
systems, except Coyote, with 60% or more of the sediment storage volume used following spring runoff will have
the sediment removed in the same year. The third quarter, 2013 sediment pond inspection report indicates No
Name 42 sediment pond was at a 70% sediment level. This pond will need to be cleaned as soon as weather
permits.
Based on the comparison between the third and fourth quarter 2013 pond capacity data, it appears the sediment
capacity was increased in the East Pyeatt 41 and Middle Flume 43 sediment ponds.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (303) 866 -3567 ext. 8120.
Sincerely,
, cplv—
Jared Ebert
Environmental Protection Specialist, DRMS
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
