Compliance With Mine Plan <br />R - Support Facilities Not On -site <br />N - Other <br />N - Special Categories Of Mining <br />N - Processing Waste <br />N - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />This was a partial inspection of the Bowie No. 1 Mine conducted by Brock Bowles of the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining & Safety. The operator was not present for the inspection. The weather was sunny and cold <br />with a moderate breeze from the east. The ground was frozen with patchy snow. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 C Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.053; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />East Mine: The refuse pile pond (photo 1) and ponds 1 & 2 did not contain water. The culvert under the <br />main access road northwest of the refuse pile is free and clear of obstructions. The lower ditch on the east side of <br />the refuse pile was in good condition (photo 2). <br />West Mine: Pond W -2 did not contain water (photo 3). <br />Loadout: Some construction materials are in the sediment pond (photo 4). These materials (soil) need to be <br />removed to ensure the pond maintains its holding capacity. <br />OFFSITE SUPPORT FACILIITES - Rule 4.04,4.28: <br />Loadout: The railroad track and ties are being removed. The ties are being bundled and stacked (photo 5). <br />The rails are stacked in piles (photo 6). Spikes, plates and miscellaneous metal parts are scattered just off the <br />railroad bed working area.
