dated November 18. 2013 is attached in Attachment 2011-) This was planted in fall 2010
but was out competed by several invasive weed species. Approximately 15.5 acres of new
dryland pasture was seeded in the spring and fall with approximately 4. / acres of dryland
pasture was reseeded due to an underground pipe projects disturbance footprint. The
dryland pasture areas are located north of BB & west of 27 roads (Benson and Lloyd
proprieties) and have a mixture of seeding techniques; broadcast and drilled. Both areas
are noted in Exhibit 2011 -4. Interseeding was not performed during 2011. Attachment
2011 -D contains documentation on specific seed mixes, seeding application rates, as well
as sample seed tags.
Revegetation Monitoring Report
The 2011 Revegetated sampling took place in the irrigated Pasture (IP), Phase III or SL -12
reclamation area. The general area consists of approximately 126 acres located east of
27 road and south of BB road. Attachment 2011 -F is the report in its entirety.
Revegetated Land Fertilizer Rates and Pasture Yields
Fertilizer was applied on the NH2 property, east of 27 road in late March & early May.
2.05.4(2)(e) requires a minimum of 60lbs /ac nitrogen and 20lbs /ac phosphorus be applied
in the NH2 area at 100 percent strength. This translates to 43lbs /ac of 18 -46 -0, and,
117lbs /ac of UREA for a combined application weight of 160lbs /ac. NH1 and NH2 fields
are depicted on Exhibits 2011 -1 and 2011 -9 respectively. NH2 first cut yields varied from
1,962lb /acre to 4,186lb /acre and are shown in Exhibit 2011 -11. The average for 1s` cutting
production from the NH2 area was 2,630lbs /ac. The 1 s` cutting production on the reference
area was 2,487lbs /ac. New Horizon Mine did not fertilize or harvest in the NH1 area,
however the landowner did. Fertilizer was applied to the 6.39 acre Garvey area at a rate
of 250lb /acre with a 50/50 mix of 18 -4 , -0 and UREA. _f his application inforn-lation was
supplied by the laiiduwner The 2'- cutting produced an average production of 2,058
Ibs /ac in the NH2 area. Weather played a significant role in extending cutting operations.
The reference area was not cut a second time but was grazed instead. Exhibit 2011 -8
depicts general top soil replacement thickness and long term revegetation.
Wildlife Monitoring Reports
No wildlife monitoring was conducted on the NH2 Mine site.
Weed and Pest Control Activities
Noxious weed control in 2011 consisted of several applications. Target species for weeds
were Knapweed(s), Thistle(s), White Top, Curly Cup Gum Weed, Russian - olive, saltceder,
burdock, mullein, halogeton, and Western whorled milkweed. Spot spraying was
completed at NH2, see Exhibit 2011 -5. The treated sites were small and random in nature;
too small to accurately depict on the map, however, the general areas are depicted and
account for 260ac. Please see attachment 2011 -E for application rates, target species,
and for application dates.
Western Fuels Colorado personnel and BackCountry Vegetation Management, Colorado
License # i + el %, of Norwood, CO, treated noxious weeds. Various herbicides were
applied at the manufacture specified rates. Surfactant and a marking dye were used with
the herbicides to maximize spray effectiveness. Incidental spraying of nuisance weeds was
also performed in many of the same areas.
4 1
