Pineda <br />Director <br />Re: Roadside Portals Mine (Permit No. C- 1981 -041) <br />Follow -up Correspondence regarding Objection to Bond Release Application SL -8 <br />Dear Mr. Fontanari: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has received your letter <br />dated October 7, 2013 which details your formal objection to the Snowcap Coal Company (SCC) <br />bond release application SL -8 for the Roadside Portals Mine. J.E. Stover & Associates, Inc. on <br />behalf of SCC has prepared a formal written response to your request for denial of the bond <br />release application, which is available for review on our website at www.mininJ;.state.co.us. <br />The Division conducted its bond release inspection on October 23 through 25, 2013. You <br />attended the inspection on October 23rd which was largely devoted to inspecting those areas <br />within and adjacent to your property for which you have raised concerns related to subsidence <br />effects and the potential for hydrologic impacts. We have completed our inspection report for <br />the SL -8 surety release application and this is also available on our website for your review. The <br />Division is continuing to assess your information contained in your objection letter and the <br />response to your objections from SCC prepared by J.E.
