UPLAND GRAVEL, LLC.
3202 Springfield Road
Grand Junction, Colorado 81503
(970)434 -0510 Office (970) 434 -6510 Fax
December 19`h, 2013
To whom it may concern:
Mine ID # M- 2001 -088
V In regards to the inspection report by Travis Marshall, dated 11 -21-2013 .
The reference to imported backfill materials:
Rule 3.1.5(9) a.
A map is included showing the rough location of imported materials.
b.
The total volume to date is estimated at < 10,000 cubic yards. The total volume overtime is
unknown as there is no way to know where the depressed area under the gravel deposit ends.
The impacted area is currently roughly 200'x160' and a depth that varies between 1' -10'.
c.
A signed affidavit is attached.
d.
The materials have been being imported off and on since 2004 and is continuing still.
e.
The post- mining use was intended (when the mine was applied for in 2001) to be three,
ten -acre building lots. As mining progressed from south to north, a depressed area (where
the bottom of the gravel deposit dipped deeper into the sub - layer) was excavated out and
needed to be filled to ensure a relatively flat surface for future processing of mined materials
and end use after the cessation of mining operations and reclamation.
f.
All materials imported to date have been placed with dozers in approximate 2' lifts and
track - walked to interlock and compact everything. Each lift has subsequently been capped
with a small amount of dirt to fill the voids before any more large, chunky materials are
placed.
Thank you for yogi' consideration in this matter.
Rinderle
