The permit for the mine has been revoked and the reclamation was completed
by the Division. The Division completed year ten vegetation monitoring in June of this year and completed a
termination of jurisdiction inspection on 24 October 2014. The weather was cool and clear and the ground was
dry.
BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1;Approximate Original Contour
4.14.2;Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials
4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6:
-The reclaimed east mine, bleeder entries and west mine were all stable at the time of the inspection. There was
no settling, slumping or erosional problems noted on any of these mine sites. It appears as though all of these
areas have achieved AOC. The disturbed boundaries blend into the undisturbed boundaries well and the reclaimed
landforms blend into the surrounding areas well.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
-The east mine, bleeder entries area and the west mine were all well vegetated and stable at the time of the
inspection. The Division completed year ten vegetation monitoring of these areas this past summer and all of the
areas showed good cover and species diversity. This good cover and species diversity was seen on the 20
November 2013 partial inspection. There were also very few noxious weeds observed on the site. The noxious
weeds observed included Russian knapweed, Canada thistle, bull thistle, musk thistle and Scotch thistle. The vast
majority of the noxious weeds seen at the Hawk's nest Mine were located at the East Mine facilities area. Overall,
the amount of noxious weeds is less than 1%of total cover. There were no problems with noxious weeds noted at
the Hawk's Nest Mine during the 20 November 2013 partial inspection.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: N/A
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 6
