PERMIT #: M- 1977 -151
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: PSH
INSPECTION DATE: November 15, 2013
The Division currently holds a financial warranty in the amount of $47,000, which appears adequate to
complete the surface reclamation on the site. The mine sign and boundary markers as required by Rule 3.1.12
were observed during the inspection. The Operator has constructed boat docks and other structures along
the lake shorelines to accommodate the water skiing activities. The Division will require the Operator to
submit a technical revision to include these features into the approved Reclamation Plan for the site prior to
any future release request consideration by the Division.
The shoreline vegetation consisted of annual weeds with little to no native grasses. The shorelines with the
exception of the beach areas constructed for the water skiers appeared steeper than the required 3H:1V
slopes. The Operator stated in the 2013 Annual Report shoreline regrading occurred along the southern and
northwest edges of the 40 acre lake. The Division recommends the Operator continues to regrade the non-
compliant slopes and begin revegetation of the completed shorelines. Stockpiles of concrete were observed
along the southern shoreline of the 40 acre lake. The Operator will need to comply with the requirements of
Rule 3.1.5(9) if the concrete is used as inert fill at the site.
Photographs taken during the inspection are attached.
Inspection Contact Address
Mrs. Sharon Hiner
R M Hiner Construction Co Inc
11 Austin Rd
Lamar, CO 81052
Cc: Tom Kaldenbach, DRMS
