The decision date for this Technical Revision is December 9, 2013.
The Division has reviewed the Technical Revision Application and has the following comments:
1. Please specify how much Hyperfloc AF307 will be stored at the mine site at any given time.
2. Please specify where the Hyperfloc AF307 will be stored at the mine site.
3. Please specify how the Operator will clean up any spills of the flocculent.
4. The Applicant has stated that Hyperfloc AF307 is biodegradable. However, the Material Safety Data
Sheet states that the flocculent is not readily biodegradable. Please clarify this discrepancy and
provide an explanation of the designation `not readily biodegradable'.
This concludes the Division's preliminary adequacy review of this Technical Revision. Please remember
that the decision date for this Technical Revision is December 9, 2013. As previously mentioned, if you
are unable to provide satisfactory responses to any inadequacies prior to this date, it will be your
responsibility to request an extension of time to allow for continued review of this Technical
Revision. If there are still unresolved issues when the decision date arrives and no extension has been
requested, the Technical Revision will be denied.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303)866 -3567 x8116.
Sincerely,
Michael A. ningham
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand )unction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
