Robinson Lake water
type with some mixing with Pinedale Till water type, sulfate being the major constituent,
dominate the samples, with the exception of EV -08 located in the eastern portion of the
drainage (Figure 3.4). Analytical results support this statement with elevated sulfate
concentrations in most of these samples, and elevated manganese and detectable cadmium
concentrations in several of the samples. Water quality at sampling location EV -08 is more
similar to the deep bedrock A type water as observed in well EVMW -004, suggesting little to no
seepage extending in this direction. In summary, the analytical results support the use of the
field EC measurements to delineate the extent of water with characteristics similar to Robinson
Lake and Robinson Lake Seep.
Dissolved iron was reported in several samples during the drilling phase, however all
concentrations were less than 0.5 mg /L indicating that there is no clear iron source or migration
pathway that may contribute to dissolved iron in EVMW -1S based on these samples of the first
occurrence of groundwater. A review of all dissolved iron data collected during this scope of
work identified elevated concentrations in unconsolidated sediments and shallow bedrock (PZ-
04 and RL -17) immediately downgradient of Robinson Lake.
