GP Aggregates, LLC. — West Farm Pit — Technical Revision No. 2 Request
File No. M- 2008 -078 — Response to Second Adequacy Review
November 22, 2013
-2-
the stability of the area between the two reservoirs. An analysis was conducted for both the
thick clay and gravel sections. The factor of safety for both profiles was 1.5.
10. More specifics are needed regarding the proposed monitoring program. For example, how will
slope performance be documented? What is the threshold for mitigative actions? What types of
mitigative actions would be used? How long after operations will slopes be monitored?
Visual observations of the slope performance will be documented in writing after each weekly
inspection and records of each inspection will be kept on -site.
Minor sloughing along the mining slopes is common and does not have a large effect the
stability of the slope. Any sloughing that occurs along the slope that may affect the stability of
the slope will be repaired to ensure the slope remains stable.
Mitigative actions will include stabilizing the slope by rebuilding areas that have sloughed.
These areas will be rebuilt by placing fill material in the sloughing areas or adding material to
the slope to flatten the sideslope until it is stable.
Slope performance will be monitored throughout the duration of the operation, until the site is
fully reclaimed, and until the Division releases the reclamation bond for all phases of the mine.
GP appreciates your consideration of this information in these responses to your comments,
and looks forward to your reply.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Todd Yee
J &T Consulting, Inc.
Cc: File
GP Aggregates, LLC
Attachments:
Monitoring Well Location Map
%, 305 Denver Avenue, Suite D • Fort Lupton, CO 80621 • Ph: 303 - 857 -6222 • Fax: 303 - 857 -6224
