INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO:
ZACH TRUJILLO
FROM:
JANET BINNS
SUBJECT:
DESERADO MINE, C1981 -018, MR157
DATE:
11/25/2013
CC:
I have reviewed Blue Nfountain Energy's (BI VIE) application for 1\IR157 with regards to proposed addition to weed
control pesticide use, and additional use of Forage kochia for weed management efforts.
Forage kochia would be used to provide a perennial species to reduce re- invasion of spot treatment of Cheatgrass.
BNIE has successfully used Forage kochia in its seed mix without negative results. This proposal is acceptable.
BME also proposes to add an additional pesticide choice for control of noxious weeds. The additional herbicide is
Landmark XP (by Dupont). BRIE states that Landmark XP is not currently registered for use on rangeland. BME
will use Landmark XP in accordance with its label. I spoke with Paul Dagget of BLM -White River District Office.
Mr. Dagget confirmed that Landmark XP is approved for use on BLM lands in Colorado. 1\1r. Dagget noted that
BME's permit with BLNI may need to be updated to reflect this additional pesticide.
BME retained previously approved text and formatted revised pages V -67, V69, V -70 and V -71 appropriately. I
recommend the Division approved section V.L. As per your request, dated 11/13/2013, I did not review the other
pages submitted with this revision.
