STORM WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />LINCOLN COUNTY HOFFMAN PIT <br />M- 2®®S - ®a4 <br />As required by the State of Colorado Department of Health to reduce the chance of any possible <br />pollutants reaching any waters of the Mute of Colorado, let this nerve as a Storm water Management Plan <br />(SWMP) that can be modified an needed should any of the Lincoln County mining practices / operations <br />change within sire &mbeds of rivers and creeks within Lincoln County. Or should any open pit within the <br />County be located, have the doping changed to allow storm water to come in contact with any waterway <br />that would drain into a Mate waterway. <br />Lincoln County does /nor should not need to More any hazardous materials on site. All equipment used In <br />the removal of material from the site is trucked in, bulldozers and or end - loaders fully fueled and <br />removed once the work is complete. All fueling or repairs shall and or does take place on the haul road or <br />loading area well away from any bank, or stream bed or any creek. All and or any overburden, or topsoil <br />that needs to be stockpiled until reclamation is seeded and allowed to stabilize well away from the banks <br />of the creek or streambed. Stockpiles are minimal, and should rarely be left for any length of time. <br />Mining shall be done such that any storm water will remain in the pit are &, and not drain into adjacent <br />land. <br />Sand and gavel pits within Lincoln County are located well away from any drainage areas that would <br />allow water to enter Colorado Waters as defined, the storm water remains within the pit area until it <br />perks through the moll. Streambed operations have all material stockpiled well away from the banks and <br />rarely remain. The District Road Foreman for District 01 shall be responsible to assure this plan in <br />followed, and all Dent Management Practices are implemented and up -dated as needed to insure any <br />storm water that may enter any adjacent land has not been polluted by poor management practices. <br />Semi- annual site inspections are impractical an this operation Is used rarely and no one is at the site <br />unions material Is being removed, but will be performed no less than once annually. <br />REST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES <br />At no time will any mining activity take place when there Is water In the pit area. All overburden and <br />topsoil shall be seeded to allow for revegetation to take place in order to control storm water run -off or <br />prevent storm water from contacting adjacent land. Berms will be erected and maintained in any location <br />where storm water discharge might occur. Any needed refueling shall take place away from the mining <br />area, on the haul road or parking/loading area with extra care given to avoid any spills. Should a spill <br />happen, the area would be cleaned by removing any soil/material to a depth of one (1) foot and twice the <br />size of the spill area, and removed from the site and disposed of according to EPA regulations. Any spill <br />that falls within the required reporting to Haz -Mat shall be reported In a timely manner. This cleanup of <br />a spill will also apply to any other fluids that may need to be added, or should any bones break on <br />the equipment. All repairs will take place In the loading area or haul road whenever possible. At no time <br />shall fuel or any fluids required be stored on site. <br />
