Shoup. Our initial letter to your agency was sent <br />on October 7, 2013 (copy attached), and we mistakenly addressed the letter to Mr. Shoup. Thank you in advance for <br />your assistance, and please accept my gratitude for the ongoing assistance that we are receiving from Mr. Shoup. <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 4, 2013, an application to revise coal <br />mining operations at the New Horizon Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The revision addresses prime farmland reclamation practices, including topsoil redistribution and revegetation plans; <br />replacement of the irrigated cropland technical standard with a reference area; and determination of prime farmland <br />areas. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 1.7 miles Northwest of Nucla, Colorado. The <br />permit area is farther described as follows: <br />1.7 miles northwest of the Town of Nucla <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Nucla. <br />A copy of the revision application is available for public inspection at the Montrose County Courthouse, 300 Main <br />Street, Nucla, CO. 81424 and at the Division office.
