Previously portions of the pile were purposely kept barren due to MSHA
requirements to keep flammable materials 25 feet away from such facilities.
Discussions concerning weed control measures were also updated to address current thoughts on the
control of cheatgrass by herbicides and with the use of Forage kochia. Sulfometuron + Chlorsulfuron
(Landmark XP) was added to the list of `persistent' herbicides for a cheatgrass control option.
If you have any further questions please contact me at 970 - 675 -4322.
Sincerely,
Scott Wanstedt
Environmental Engineer
swanstedtCdeserado.com
enc:
cc: Jeff Dubbert
Paul Daggett — BLM
