precedent in locating a final planting site. Adjusted locations will be maintained within
750 feet of the planned planting location shown on Exhibit 22-1 whenever possible.
The following acreages by reclaimed community type (i.e., seed mix or planting list) are
anticipated for the Seneca 11-W Mine area. All acreages are approximate.
Mine Area
Seed Mix I Areas
1,468
Seed Mix 2 Areas
1.0
Seed Mix 6 Shrub
78.0)
Planting List 1
34.6
Planting List 2
19.0
Planting List 3
18,0
Planting List 4
0.5
Planting List 5
5.5
Planting List 6
5.7
Seed acquired for the various seed mixes will be of the highest quality possible. It should
be noted that the addition of large numbers of native species (harvested from native
sources) will contribute larger quantities of trash and inert matter. However, all seed mixes
are specified on a PLS basis, ensuring that the specified amount of viable seed is being
applied. Sources will be on a regional basis whenever possible, particularly for the native
harvest species. Seed tags for all seed used in a given reclamation year will be presented in
the annual reclamation report.
Native species predominate in all mixes, including Seed Mix No. 4 for temporary
reclamation. The following species, by seed mix, are introduced.
Seed Mix No. I Orchardgrass
Alfalfa
Seed Mix No.2 Redtop bentgrass
Creeping foxtail
Birdsfoot trefoil
PR-06 33 Revised 10 /11
