Pineda <br />Director <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C -82 -056 <br />Third Quarter 2013 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit CO- 0027154, CO- <br />0036684, CO- 0042161, COG - 850054, COG - 850051) <br />September 2013 Discharge Monitoring Report (CO- 0027154) <br />Dear Mr. Watterson: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The Third Quarter Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on 07 <br />November 2013; the reports cover the time period from 01 July 2013 through 30 September 2013 and 01 <br />September 2013 through 30 September 2013 (CO- 0027154). <br />Permit CO- 0027154 — During the month of September 2013 only Outfalls 005A /MON5 /005W (Pond <br />D), 006A/006Q (Pond E) and 003A/003Q (Pond B) flowed. <br />Outfalls 005A, 005W, MON5, 005Q (Pond D), 006A/006Q (Pond E), and 003A/003Q (Pond B) <br />discharged during the quarter. <br />No exceedances were noted for the quarter or during the month of September. <br />During the third quarter 2013 WET tests were collected for Outfalls 005. The tests indicated that the <br />effluent was not acutely toxic to Daphnia magna. <br />Permit CO- 0036684 — Outfall 001A/001W /MON1 (Site 62) each week during the quarter. No <br />exceedances were noted. <br />During the third quarter 2013 WET tests were collected for Outfall 001 A/001 W/MON 1. The tests <br />indicated that the effluent was not acutely toxic to Ceriodaphnia dubia or Pimephales promelas. <br />Permit CO- 0042161 — Outfall 002A (sites 300E and 300I) discharged during the quarter, with no <br />exceedances noted.
