V
Statement of Janet A. Kunz
h
Re: Application to Amend a 112d -3 Operation (AM -10), to Include Mine
Life Extension 2, Cripple Creek & Victor Gold, Cresson Project, Permit
No. M- 1980 -244.
To Whom It May Concern:
My first objection to the proposed Application and Amendment is based on
the fact that my son, Wayne B. Tease, is buried in the Mary McKinney Mine.
This mine is located on the area specified in the proposed application and
amendment. The State of Colorado issued a Death Certificate, Exhibit #1,
which states that his body remains are in the mine. Death occurred on April
27, 1986.
Exhibit #2 contains pictures of Wayne's remains presented to my family and
me in 1986 by representatives of The U. S. Department of Labor - Mine
Safety and Health Administration, The Colorado Department of Natural
Resources - Division of Mined Land Reclamation and by the offices of
Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Spector. These were delivered to us at my
home in Oreland, Pennsylvania.
1
