fR, 4 <br />Mining District and in panel 9 Right in the EMD indicates that no problems or material damage will occur to the <br />line due to subsidence. TCC did not cause any material damage to the line as a result of mining the above two <br />panels. <br />Telephone Service <br />The telephone service line parallels county road 33 and may be impacted by undermining and subsiding the line. In <br />the event a line is severed, a repair crew can be mobilized to perform the required repairs and reestablish phone <br />service. <br />TCC is a user on this line and any disruption to its service will trigger mobilizing the repair crew. Therefore, <br />additional monitoring of this line will not be conducted. TCC has completed undermining and subsiding the line <br />and no impacts were observed to the line. <br />Railroad <br />The Union Pacific Railroad spur traverses over the section of panel 6 Right that will not be longwall mined., and over <br />gateroad 6 Right, of the proposed five -year permit (1998- 2003). The overburden thickness varies from 450 to 1,100 <br />feet in the corridor where the railroad passes over the mine workings. The location of the rail line is shown on Map <br />23B, Structures and Renewable Resources. TCC is not planning on subsiding the railroad track during the proposed <br />five year permit term (1998- 2003). <br />Foidel Creek <br />Foidel Creek flows in a north- easterly direction through the Eastern Mining District. Foidel Creek flows across the <br />east half and central portions of Panel 7 Right, near Panel 6 Right and then crosses Panels 8 Right and 9 Right, <br />exiting near the extreme north -east corner of Panel 9 Right. The location of the creek is shown on Map 23. The <br />overburden thickness varies from 610 to 975 feet in the corridor where the creek passes over the mine workings. <br />The projected impacts to the creek are presented in Exhibit 7E, Prediction of Subsidence, Eastern Expansion to the <br />Foidel Creek Mine, and in the Probable Hydrologic Consequences of this application. As noted in Exhibit 7E, <br />subsidence varies from 43 to 86 inches over the 6 Right panel. This extent of the subsidence did not cause <br />significant changes to the creek's profile and resultant erosion did occur.
