Please provide a comparison of the proposed post- mining land use to other land uses in the <br />vicinity and to adopted state and local land use plans and programs. In those instances <br />where the post- mining land use is for industrial, residential, or commercial purposes and <br />such use is not reasonably assured, a plan for revegetation shall be submitted. Appropriate <br />evidence supporting such reasonable assurance shall be submitted. <br />11. Please clarify if the reclaimed slopes will be mined to the final maximum gradient of 3H:1V <br />or mined at a steeper slope and backfilled to achieve the reclaimed slope. <br />12. Please specify the anticipated minimum depth or a range of depth for those areas where <br />topsoil will be replaced. <br />13. The Applicant states weed control will be maintained by the Operator or retaining services <br />of the Logan County Weed District spraying service. <br />If the site will not be included in the Logan County program, please submit a weed control <br />and management plan in accordance with Section 3.1.10 (6) of the Rule. This plan should <br />be developed in consultation with the county extension agency, or weed control district <br />office and should include specific control measures to be applied, a schedule for when <br />control measures will be implemented and a post- treatment monitoring plan. <br />6.4.6 Exhibit F — Reclamation Plan Map <br />14. Rule 6.2.1(2) requires maps be signed by a registered land surveyor, professional engineer, <br />or other qualified person. The Reclamation Plan maps submitted to the Division were not <br />signed. Please resubmit signed copies of the maps. <br />6.4.10 Exhibit J — Vegetation Information <br />15. The Operator /Applicant shall include a narrative of the description of present vegetation <br />types, which include quantitative estimates of cover and height for the principal species in <br />each life -form represented (i.e., trees, tall shrubs, low shrubs, grasses, forbs). <br />6.4.12 Exhibit L — Reclamation Costs <br />16. The Applicant states 61.3 acres will be affected during the life of the mine, however the <br />Applicant is proposing to only post a reclamation bond for a maximum disturbance of 14.58 <br />acres. Please commit to not disturbing greater than 14.58 acres without notifying the <br />Division and providing additional reclamation bond. Please note disturbance of greater <br />than 14.58 acres may result in a possible violation of the reclamation permit. <br />
