g) There will be no shop, plant, or other facilities permanently located at the
mine site. Equipment will be maintained at the site when mining is occurring.
This will be on a periodic basis since material will only be mined on an as
needed basis. The equipment used to mine the gravel will be primarily a
front -end loader and trucks. A portable fuel tank will be taken to the site
when active mining is occurring. The tank will be placed out of any drainage
area and out of the active working area to prevent fuel spills or related
hazards. This and good housekeeping will minimize the potential of any
contamination. The final mine floor will be at least 110' above static water
level and should pose no threat to ground water. Equipment will be serviced
out of the mining area.
h) No water will be used in conjunction with the operation. There could be
instances when heavy rainfall makes the site too muddy to continue. At those
times, mining will simply cease until the site becomes dry enough to mine
again. Mining will not go into the groundwater at the site.
i) The material to be mined will be used for road construction.
i) Our plans are to mine to a maximum depth of 20' if the material continues
to be suitable.
ii) Based up mining that has occurred to date, the material at the bottom of the
pit would be expected to remain consistent throughout the life of the pit.
j) The material to be removed from this pit includes sand and gravel. Soil not
usable for road building and some oversized rocks might also be at the site.
k) Dust control measures have not proven necessary in past mining efforts and
are not anticipated as the pit is expanded.
1) No explosives will be used in this operation.
