Do they enforce the EPA Secondary Drinking Water Standards or any standards? And if
so, why was the manganese, iron and sulfate not written up by the mine inspector when they were over the
maximum levels? The elevated values of dissolved calcium, chloride and magnesium (similar to the previous
monitoring period) were cited in the 2011 AHR. Therefore, the water tests for MW23 were read.
Mike doesn't even mention Secondary Drinking Water Standards in his report and I know he is aware of them. In
the 1995 AHR Mike Boulay notes declining water levels. The depth to water went from 100 feet to 150 feet in
MW23. He also states, the manganese exceeds the Basic Drinking Water Standards for Groundwater in MW65
(Dr. Corley's well) and downslope monitoring well on 19/9/96, 3/24/97, 9/30/97. 1 commented in my July 16th
letter to Mike and Dan that MW23 had manganese and iron in it in May 1979 and not for the next 30 years.
Manganese and Iron were higher in Nov. 2006 and May 2008. Manganese in Dec 2010 and June, 2011, Calcium
and Magnesium were also high during this time and were shown on the chart we submitted with our Citizen's
Complaint in June 2012.
1 have requested that MW23 be discussed with the Board for the DRMS and would like to have it heard with
TR40.
Thank you,
Linda
https: / /mai l.g oog le.conVmai 1 /u /0 / ?ui =2 &i Ire29129fcb5 &view = pt &search =i nboy&th =141 cdO447d3b72a3 1/2
