RULE 2 PERMITS <br />. 2.04.7 (3) Alternative Water Supply <br />Colowyo's proposed mining operations in the South Taylor/Lower Wilson area are not expected to cause <br />significant contamination, diminution, or interruption of surface or groundwater resources, based on <br />information provided in Section 2.05.6. The potential diminution that may result during mining is within <br />the water rights held by Colowyo. <br />2.04.8 Climatological Information <br />Applicable climatological information for the permit revision area is the same as is currently contained in <br />the previously approved permit document. As a result, no additional information is presented herein. <br />2.04.9 Soils Resource Information <br />The objective of this section is to meet the requirements of Rule 2.04.9 et seq. by furnishing soils <br />information for the South Taylor/Lower Wilson permit revision mining azeas in sufficient detail to <br />determine the following: <br />• General distribution, properties and present and potential productivity of soils within the mining <br />areas; <br />• Distribution, suitability, and average salvage depths of soils within the disturbed areas associated <br />with the mining areas; and, <br />• Quantity of salvageable suitable soil material for use in the reclamation of the disturbed areas <br />associated with the mining. <br />To meet the requirements of Rule 2.04.9 et seq. both general and detailed soils resource information data <br />where assembled, collected, and analyzed for each mining area. General soils resource information will <br />be provided first followed by detailed soils resource information for each azea. Detailed soils information <br />presented in this document are for the Lower Wilson mining area, Lower Wilson North Haul Road, and <br />South Taylor mining areas located within the permit revision azea only. Soils information for all other <br />current Colowyo areas is contained in the existing Colowyo permit documents. <br />Order III Soil Survey -Permit Revision Area <br />The general soils resource information used to describe the distribution, properties, and present and <br />potential productivity of soils within the South Taylor/Lower Wilson permit revision area are included in <br />the following: <br />Unpublished Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Order-III soil survey maps and <br />map unit descriptions for Moffat County, Colorado (NRCS, Craig, Colorado); <br />MRCS -Soil Survey Division soil series descriptions (http://wwwstatlab.iastausete.edu/cgi_ <br />bin/osd/osdname.cei). This information was used for portions of the permit revision area located <br />in Moffat County, Colorado; and, <br />Order-III soil survey maps and map unit descriptions found in the Soil Survev of the Rio Blanco <br />County Area, Colorado (]982).
