Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division), has completed a preliminary review
of the permit application, and has the following comments.
6.4.3 EXHIBIT C - Pre - mining and Mining Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands
1) Please have the maps signed by a registered land surveyor, professional
engineer, or other qualified person as required by Rule 6.2.1(2)(b).
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
2) Please specify a few of the potential species of grass that could be used as a
cover crop on the naturals and fines stockpiles.
3) Please describe the strata below the material to be mined.
4) Please clarify: Will the topsoil be stripped and stored separately from the top 18
inches of material?
5) The Division would recommend a 25ft -50ft mining setback from the permit
boundary, to allow room for site maintenance.
6) The Division would recommend mining a 3H:1V slope to prevent the need for
backfilling slopes during reclamation.
6.4.5 EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
