JD -7 Mine — Drainage Design Plan 22
1C
f
Figure T Aerial Photograph showing Alluvial Fan and Braided Ephemeral Channels on
Valley Floor near Sub - Basins N -J and N -K
Sub - basins N -I, N -A, and N -B are located in the west - central portion of the project area, and receive and
route stormwater runoff from the crest of Monogram Mesa to the valley floor adjacent to the soil stockpile
and planned open pit waste rock pile (Figure 3). Sub - basins N -H and N -C are smaller, triangular sub -
basins defined by local drainage divides on the lower elevations of the escarpment, which also route
stormwater runoff to the valley floor adjacent to the soil stockpile and planned open pit waste rock pile
(Figure 8). Stormwater in sub -basin N -I that arrives at the valley floor flows 1,000 feet over a permeable
channel bed toward the existing topsoil stockpile. Infiltration along the flowpath is discussed in Section
4.7. Sub - basins N -A, N -B, and N -C direct stormwater to the valley floor south of the planned open pit
waste rock pile. The receiving area has been stripped of topsoil in preparation for waste rock, and few
distinct flow channels are evident (Figure 8).
4149A.130926 Whetstone Associates
