JD -7 Mine — Drainage Design Plan 16
At the JD -7 Mine, all riprap will be installed with a granular bedding to protect underlying soils per the
attached Urban Drainage and Flood Control District specification for gradation and thickness (UDFCD,
2008) in Attachment 3.
If gravel mulch is required at the JD -7 Mine based on the results of the scour and velocity analysis, the
gravel mulch will be "composed of coarse to very coarse gravel, 16 mm to 64 mm (0.6 to 2.5 inch), similar
to an AASHTO No. 3 coarse aggregate" (FHWA, 2005). No bedding will be placed between the gravel
mulch and bare soil.
4149A.130926 Whetstone Associates
