TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />b. Seam flow data at two (2) pounds per square inch (psi) confining pressure. <br />At the CERTIFYING ENGINEER'S or CC &V'S request the CONTRACTOR shall furnish: <br />a. Representative samples of the GCLs specified. <br />b. A project reference list for the GCL(s) consisting of the principal details of at least ten (10) <br />projects totaling at least ten million (10,000,000) square feet in size. <br />B. Upon shipment, the CONTRACTOR shall furnish the GCL MANUFACTURER'S Quality <br />Assurance /Quality Control (QA /QC) certifications to verify that the materials supplied for the project <br />are in accordance with the requirements of this SPECIFICATION. <br />C. As installation proceeds, the CONTRACTOR shall submit certificates of subgrade acceptance, signed <br />by the CONTRACTOR and CQA MONITOR for each area that is covered by the GCL. <br />1.5 QUALIFICATIONS <br />A. Manufacturer <br />GCL MANUFACTURER must have produced at least ten million (10,000,000) square feet of <br />GCL, with at least eight million (8,000,000) square feet installed. <br />B. Installer <br />The GCL INSTALLER must either have installed at least one million (1,000,000) square feet of <br />GCL, or must provide to the MANAGER satisfactory evidence, through similar experience in the <br />installation of other types of geosynthetics, that the GCL will be installed in a competent, <br />professional manner. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MATERIALS <br />A. The GCLs shall consist of a layer of natural sodium bentonite clay encapsulated between two <br />geotextiles and shall comply with all of the criteria listed in this section. <br />B. Prior to using an alternate GCL, the CONTRACTOR must furnish independent test results <br />demonstrating that the proposed alternate material meets all requirements of this SPECIFICATION. <br />The CONTRACTOR also must obtain prior approval of the GCL by the MANAGER and the <br />CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br />C. Acceptable reinforced GCL product is Bentomat® ST, as indicated on the DRAWINGS, and as <br />manufactured by CETCO, 1350 West Shure Drive, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004 (847- 392 - 5800), <br />or an equivalent approved by the CERTIFYING ENGINEER and DESIGN ENGINEER. <br />D. The reinforced GCL and its components shall have the properties shown in Table 02776.2 -1. <br />E. The reinforced GCL shall have 10,000 hour test data for large -scale constant -load (creep) shear testing <br />under hydrated conditions.
