Spring 2013 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations
South of Divide and Dry Fork Mining Areas (E -Seam)
collected from various monitoring locations on the Monument Dam (including Dam Inspection
Forms) are provided in Appendix C.
The Minnesota Reservoir Robotic Total Station (RTS) surveyed twelve monuments on the dam
(6000 series) and twenty -six monuments on the hillside south of Minnesota Creek Road (7000
series), once a day from late 2008 to the summer of 2011, although there were several periods of
time when the RTS was inoperable. During the summer of 2011 the RTS failed completely and
could not be repaired after numerous attempts. In lieu of the RTS, monthly land surveys of the
monuments were completed. A summary of both average height and longitudinal displacement
data obtained in fall 2012 to spring 2013 is provided in Table 1 of Appendix C.
831 - 032.795 Wright Water Engineers, Inc.
