TRAPPER MINING INC.
September 25, 2013
Mr. Jared Ebert C
REEIVE®
Environmental Protection Specialist v
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 SEP 2 1 2013
Denver, CO 80203
DMSION OF RECLAMATION
Dear Mr. Ebert: UNING AND SAFETY
RE: Semi - annual Geotechnical Monitoring Report — September 2013
Trapper began submitting semi - annual monitoring reports to the Division, beginning March 2008 with the last
report sent on March 27, 2013. Trapper has been monitoring the 2006 landslide area for movement through the
use of a continuous monitoring system.
Section 3.3.3 of Trapper's permit details the initial configuration of the monitoring system. Currently, there are
two sites (site 7 and site 8) that are monitoring the area. A map has been attached showing the location of
these sites. Inclinometer, piezometer and surface displacement graphs for both sites covering the time period of
March 26, 2012 through September 24, 2013 are attached. During this period, site 7 has shown minimal
amount of movement while site 8 has recorded a small amount of movement.
There was a planned power outage at the office on September 15, 2013. It took 24 hours for 3DTracker (the
program that collects the data) to stabilized when power was restored. After 3DTracker stablilized, the GPS
data for sites 7 and 8 did not go back to the original displacement values. After several failed attempts to get
the data back to the previous values, it was decided to reset the baselines. This is shown in the two GPS
graphs as the values went to zero.
Since the last report, consultants hired by Trapper recommended that a buttress be placed below site 8 to
prevent or minimize any possible slope failure. The Q and R seam floor was prepped and the area was
buttressed up to the L seam. This did slow down the movement that was seen at this site. Trapper will
continue to inspect this area on a regular basis.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tonia Perkins, P. E.
Senior Mining Engineer
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824 -4401
