. I
Retaining Wall Design
RPEE Haul Road Switchback, Gunnison County
Retaining wall design and recommendations provided herein were prepared exclusively
for Mountain Coal Company, L.L.C., and may be used only by Mountain Coal Company,
L.L.C. and their wall contractor. Retaining wall design, drawings, recommendations, and
specifications provided herein were developed based on the provided information,
available geotechnical data, and necessary assumptions. Actual conditions exposed
during construction may be anticipated to differ, somewhat, from those described above.
If during construction, surface, soil, bedrock, or groundwater conditions appear to be at
variance with those described above, GROUND should be advised at once, so that re-
evaluation of the wall design and recommendations may be made in a timely manner.
Materials testing during construction is essential to the success of wall performance.
GROUND should be retained to perform materials testing during the wall construction.
This report was prepared in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical
engineering practice in the Gunnison County area of Colorado at the date of preparation.
GROUND makes no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the professional data,
design, or recommendations contained herein. GROUND is not responsible for the
variations in the actual surface conditions, subsurface conditions, and grades at the site.
If you have any questions, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
GROUND Engineering Consultants, Inc.
Job Gardner, P.E.
Reviewed by Carl Henderson, P.E.
Job No. 13 -3605 GROUND Engineering Consultants, Inc.
