5.0 Wetland Delineation
In early October, 2009, Barr Engineering Company (Barr) performed delineation and mapping of
wetlands within the ±241 acre RPE East project site in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual (1987 Edition) and the Interim Regional Supplement to the
Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Western Mountains, Valleys, and Coast Region
(2008). Details of the delineation methodology and wetland descriptions are presented in the Wetland
Delineation Report, included here as Appendix I. In general summary, three seepage wetlands were
identified and delineated within the project study area. Wetland A is relatively flat herbaceous
wetland that occurs on the northeast corner of the property and totals 0.210 acres. Wetlands B and C
are very similar steeply- sloped shrub wetlands located in close proximity, near the north- central area
of the project site and total 0.026 and 0.036 acres, respectively. No direct, indirect, or secondary
wetland impacts are anticipated to occur as a result of refuse pile expansion project activities.
P. \Mpls \06 CO \26 \06261003 RPE E Permit Mod Support \WorkFiles \Permit Application \Text \Exhibit 82 RPEE design 2011 -07 -21 TR 127.doc 27
