9/26/13
State.co.us Executive Branch Mail - Fwd: Newlin Creek Flow
was completely mistaken in informing you that Newlin Creek had flows
during the night of September 13 -14th. The drainage that I thought
was Newlin Creek is the one on Fremont County Road 15, located
approximately 0.2 mile east of the intersection of Roads 15 and 92,
the dirt road which goes to the Southfield Mine area. There is a
cement bridge over this site and I was under the impression that this
was Newlin Creek. This drainage did indeed have flows during the
above mentioned runoff event. Therefore, my comments to you regarding
the flows I reported as occurring in Newlin Creek were in error.
These flows corresponded to another drainage. Thus, I don't have any
idea of whether or not there was any flow in Newlin Creek during this
runoff event as I was looking at another drainage.
Accordingly, I would request that since I was mistaken, and you
included my misinformation in your report, that you please amend you
report to delete all references attributed to me regarding reported
flows in Newlin Creek. Until yesterday afternoon, I did not know
where Newlin Creek is or that it passes beneath Fremont County Road
92, approximately 75 yards to the south of the intersection of Roads
15 and 92 and that the drainage I had seen evidence of flow in was not
Newlin Creek.
If you have any comments or questions regarding this matter, please
feel free to contact me.
Kent A.
