The decision date for this application
is September 29, 2013. The Division has reviewed the TR -06 proposal and has the following
comments.
1. Please provide the associated acreage for each of the mining/reclamation phases.
2. The map which was submitted with TR -06 includes both the Rex Quarry and the Owl
Canyon Quarry. This map serves as a good reference to illustrate the connection between the
two sites; however, the Applicant must provide a revised Mining Plan Map which solely
depicts the Owl Canyon Quarry. The map must conform to the following criteria:
a) Map scales shall not be larger than 1 inch = 50 feet, nor smaller than 1 inch = 660 feet.
b) The map shall contain the name of the operation (Owl Canyon Quarry).
c) The permit boundary must be labeled and clearly identified on the map.
3. Please specify if the reclamation plan, aside from the sequence of the phases, will change in
any way. If any portion of the reclamation plan will change, such as the final grade or areas
where highwalls will remain, then a revised Reclamation Plan Map must be submitted for
review.
4. The submitted map depicts the `PLS Boundary' which appears to consist of two non-
contiguous boundaries. The map must show the permit boundary of 161.5 acres for the Owl
Canyon Quarry.
5. As part of TR -06, the Applicant is proposing to construct an access road to a well located
east of Owl Canyon Quarry. A review of the permit file found that the Division does not have
any information about the well. Please clarify if the well is being utilized as part of the
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
