PERMIT #: M- 1990 -041
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: MAC
INSPECTION DATE: August 22, 2013
in the mill including polypropylene glycol, aero froth 65, and pine oil. One of the steel drums was corroded and
the material stored within had spilled onto the ground; the barrel was not labeled. The contents of the corroded
barrel were solid and white in color; the material was contained to the area immediately adjacent to the barrel.
This has been cited as a problem and will require corrective action by the Operator; please see the first page of
this report for additional information. All reagents and chemicals must be properly labeled, located off of the
ground and stored within the mill building.
During the last inspection conducted on July 27, 2010, the Division performed a complete bond calculation. It
was determined that the financial warranty amount of $5,000 was not adequate to complete reclamation of the
Bates - Hunter Mine and the Golden Gilpin Mill. The financial warranty amount was set at $13,730 and a notice
of financial warranty increase was sent to the Operator on September 10, 2010. The Operator did not submit the
increased financial warranty within 60 days of the financial warranty increase as required by Rule 4.2.1. As a
result, the Division has recalculated the required financial warranty amount. Notice of the financial warranty
increase will be sent under separate cover.
This concluded the inspection.
