MANAGEMENT
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, enclosed is an application for a minor revision to revise the
channel lining for the upper segment of Ditch 7.
In 2012 Bowie Resources, LLC installed well graded riprap in reclaimed Ditch 7. During a large storm
event in July 2013, the upper section of riprap sustained substantial erosion. The channel lining in
the upper segment of Ditch 7, as shown on attached Figure 1, will be changed to grouted riprap. The
grout will be a low strength concrete and the purpose is to fill the voids between the rock in order to
anchor the riprap on the steep slope. To the extent possible, the grout will be placed between the
rocks, so the roughness (Manning's n) will not change. In addition, as the channel makes the curve,
the bank will be fortified by increasing the bank height, and lining at least a portion of the bank with
grouted riprap.
Supporting documentation follows.
No increase in bond required. Ditch 7 is a permanent drainage feature.
Sincerely,
C ` , ,, - A7WM,e, Q t`A-
Tamme Bishop, P.E.
Project Engineer
cc: Basil Bear
Enclosures:
Volume 6A: Pages 6a & 6e
