Pond 9A -P4: <br />Due to the inactivity of pumping from the North Angle & pump, and the pro IiFie activiiry ofgromid squirrels an <br />badger in the vicinity, Ditch 9 -D7 will need thorough inspection for burrow damage prior to running ,,eater through this <br />ditch again. Several burrows were noted though they may be above the water flow elevation. <br />SP Spoil spring was discharging — 1.25" (3.83 gpm) on the v- notch weir. Discharge ,vas clear. <br />Processing Waste: Both waste piles remain inactive. No problems were noted with either coal processing waste area. <br />Slides and Damage: The oil pipeline break area was visited. The affected area lies outside of the permit area <br />boundary in T5N, R91 W, SW 1/4 Section 6, Rocky Mountain Pipeline Company (RMPC) had contained the spilt, <br />constructed several siphon ponds, applied absorbent material, removed affected soils and disposed contaminated >iL, <br />off site, and continues to innonitor and manage the affected spill area. Pronghorn antelope were observed through out the mine site. <br />A Great horned owl is nesting in the rock outcrop north of the Portal 5 facilities. v nestlings were observed in the nest. <br />Revegetation: BTU Empire control of Tamarisk around the treatment ponds appears effective around mine water <br />treatment ponds and waste water treatment pond. <br />No sprouting of the stumps was observed.
