4L COMMENTS - COMPL ANCE <br />Eagle Mines C: -1981 -044 <br />19 June 2009 <br />Pg2 {2 -- . <br />Hydrologic Balance (cont.): - Sediment Ponds SH -P1 and SH -P2, by the old farm shop, <br />were both dry at the time of the inspection. Both embankments were well <br />vegetated and appeared to be stable. No erosional problems were noted on either <br />pond embankment at the time of the inspection, <br />- Sediment Pond 5A -P1, just below the 5A portals, was dry at the time of the <br />inspection. The pond embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable. <br />No erosional problems were noted on the pond embankment at the time of the <br />inspection. The ditch from the 100,000 gallon water tank above the portal bench <br />was also dry and appeared to be stable as well. <br />- Sediment Ponds 9 -P1 and 9 -P6, by the newly permitted solid waste disposal area, <br />were both dry at the time of the inspection. These ponds collect the runoff from the <br />solid waste disposal area and the adjacent refuse pile. Both pond embankments <br />were well vegetated and appeared to be stable. No erosional problems were noted <br />on either pond embankment at the time of the inspection. <br />Backfilling and Grading: - The backfilled # 4 portal area appeared to be stab =le, at the <br />time of the inspection. There was no noticeable settling and there were no erosional <br />problems, <br />- The solid waste disposal area appeared to remain stable. There was no settling or <br />cracking of the backfill noted at the time of the inspection. The area was well <br />graded and reports to a sediment pond, <br />Processing Waste: - The refuse pile by the solid waste disposal ar'eo leas .eery <br />covered, topsoiled and reseeded. The area is well graded and drain rs lct the <br />adjacent sediment ponds. There are no problems with rills due to the recent rc)-ins, <br />The grasses are growing very well because It has been very wet lately, <br />- The other refuse pile just north of this one also remained stable. This pile appeared <br />to have positive drainage and there was no water pooling on the surface of the pile <br />at the time of the inspection. <br />Support Facilities: - The 5A portal area appeared to be in good condition at the time <br />of the inspection. No erosional or other problems were noted. <br />Revegetation: - The reseeded solid waste disposal area is doing well, Many of the <br />grasses are now starting to come up and there are fewer weeds than there were last <br />year. <br />Overcil the Eagle Mine is In good condltior ; his,,-- {_,rr,h !
