Dear Ken:
I understand that Lincoln County proposes a gravel pit operation that would cover
approximately ten acres in the NW /4NW /4 of Section 33, Township 8 South, Range 53 West
in Lincoln County ( "Property ") and that the County will obtain a permit from the Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety to perform the gravel mining operations.
This law firm represents Anadarko E &P Company LP and Anadarko Land Corp. with
respect to applications for development that the County proposes that include the Property.
The Anadarko entities together own all of the minerals that underlie the Property.
The Anadarko entities have no objection to the proposed gravel operations because of
their severed mineral ownership; however, please note that the Anadarko entities continue to
assert their ownership of the minerals and the right to develop their mineral resources
consistent with state and local regulations.
Please provide the Anadarko entities with notices of future hearings on applications
filed in connection with the Property pursuant to C.R.S. § 31 -23 -215, C.R.S. § 24 -6 -402 (7)
and C.R.S. § 24- 65.5 -101, et. seg, as follows:
